The Meridian International Children’s Festival is an annual interactive, educational event that allows children of all ages to travel the world in a single day. More than 20 Embassies, representing countries from around the world, host educational booths that highlight their countries’ rich cultural heritage, expose participants to international customs, and provide an important global perspective. A number of international performance groups provide entertainment with dances, music, and other acts from around the world. All of these rich cultural offerings are available to Washington families and visitors at one convenient location - the Ronald Reagan Building - free of cost. The Festival is organized by Meridian International Center, with support from the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, and THIS for Diplomats. The International Children’s Festival is the flagship event of Meridian’s educational outreach program, Live Local/Think Global (provide link) which provides free cultural programming to the Washington DC on global issues. It is also a highlight of Cultural Tourism DC’s Passport DC international activities in Washington.
