Michele has engaged in program design and implementation in various positions over the course of a substantial career. As an international education administrator at the University of the District of Columbia, she planned and conducted international/intercultural affairs workshops, seminars and conferences for the university community, as well as orientation programs for new international students and U.S. students traveling abroad. As assistant director at the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs, she coordinated planning of a nationwide series of symposia on the future of professional international affairs education; faculty fellowship programs at U.S. universities for Russian and Eastern European professors of international affairs; and recruitment outreach programs to engage students from underrepresented groups in professional international affairs education. As director of University Programs at the Peace Corps, she coordinated planning of national management training conferences for leaders of the agency’s partnership programs with more than 80 U.S. universities. In other positions, she taught French in public schools, was an adjunct professor of communication, and in intercultural trainer. Now she is pleased to focus exclusively on professional exchange programming at Meridian. Travels for education, work and leisure have taken Michele to Western Europe, Central America, the Caribbean and West Africa. She is a graduate of Oberlin College (B.A.) and Howard University (M.Ed., Ph.D.).
