Micaela has been involved with leadership exchange programs since 2007 in various capacities at Meridian International Center and the World Affairs Council of Seattle where she has worked on the International Visitor Leadership Program as well as other Department of State programs and private projects. Currently, she develops programs for professional leadership exchange programs in the GlobalConnect division at Meridian and serves as the lead on the Youth Leadership Program with Central Europe, a two-way exchange program involving five countries funded by Department of State. Micaela has worked on many other complex projects such as the Ocean for Life exchange program engaging nine countries and a MEPI Election Exchange Program and the Democracy Video Challenge project through the U.S. Department of State. She currently manages a five-year contract for reporting tours for the Office of Broadcast Services and Foreign Press Center managing international journalists travel logistics and administrative details, averaging 40 – 50 tours per year from over 50 countries. She is also an Associate Responsible Officer for Meridian’s Student and Exchange Visitor Sponsor program. Micaela interned at the Conservative Campaign Headquarters in London, England working for the Economic Competitiveness Policy Group. She holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science and International Studies from Seattle University and is currently pursing a Masters International Commerce and Policy at George Mason University. She speaks intermediate German and has extensive international travel experience for work and leisure.
