Since 2008, Lauren has worked on international exchange programs at Meridian International Center. She has extensive experience overseeing all logistical and administrative aspects of exchange programs, including programs for, the United States Trade and Development Agency (USDTA), U.S. Embassy-sponsored grantees, public/private sector clients overseas. Lauren also has experience implementing international exchange programs for countries throughout the world on a variety of topics including large scale high school youth programs. For the past 3 years, she has managed the Iraqi Youth Leadership Exchange Program, which has brought 50 Iraqi youth to the United States for a summer of cultural experience and leadership training, and has experience in planning program activities, escorting, in-country recruitment, and budget management. In February 2011, Lauren traveled to Iraq to implement a follow-on workshop for 60 Iraqi youth who participated in the U.S. exchange. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Communication from American University. She speaks conversational Italian and is well traveled internationally both personally and professionally.
