Erbil Governor, Nawzad Hadi surveys Jam Session
December 3, 2010 - The acclaimed Meridian exhibition Jam Session: America’s Jazz Ambassadors Embrace the World arrived in Iraq late October under the auspices of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
Exhibition in the Majidi Mall
Jam Session made its first appearance in the ancient city of Erbil, in the north of Iraq. Opening at the Majidi Mall on November 5, the photographic exhibition attracted large crowds and a host of local officials. In addition, a local jazz band played at the event.
Jam Session is currently in Muthanna in the south to coincide with a local music festival, and is expected to arrive in Baghdad in April to coincide with the State Department’s celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month.
