In July, 2011, a group of 13 Young Political Leaders from Lebanon was invited to participate in an IVLP and examine first-hand the U.S. political process, and the role of grassroots organizations in advocacy, social justice, and civil reforms. As a part of the professional program, the visitors exchanged ideas about political organizing and youth outreach with 40 high school leaders of the Young Democrats of America (YDA) High School Leadership Academy. The session, moderated by the President of YDA, allowed the international and American participants to compare and contrast politics and youth civic engagement in their respective countries.
